Comrade Link's Art Journey
Recently, I’ve started teaching myself how to draw. For many years, I have always thought I was just not talented enough to draw either traditionally or digitally. However, with the rise of AI shitting out uncanny, ugly, and stolen slop, I've found the urge to teach myself to draw. I've been able to rely on my friends who are in the same boat as I and my friends who are further in the journey of art. I’ve already made a good amount of drawings, but for the sake of a blog, I will slowly drip-feed them. I will try go in the order I actually made my art. While the pieces I’ve made are not perfect or top-notch, I am happy to be working towards a goal.

This piece was just finished the day I wrote this hehe. I really like this drawing as I went for less of a trace on this drawing and drew the shapes over the model this time. I think this will help with understanding the anatomy a bit more. I want to get to point where I can use the models as references fully. The hair and clothes are done by me which I feel like I have gotten better at. I do think these clothes are more simple than previous drawings.

This Character is one of my besties characters. I did a friendly fire and got to practice making fun little creatures instead of Humans. I’ll probably make some other silly little creatures of my own creation soon. I like the shading i made for this character. Also This post marks the end of my backlogged works which was growing as I started posting these. Honestly, If I actually stuck to posting daily I probably would have caught up much sooner. The next post I’ll be from a piece I finish on that day……. If i feel like it lol.
Oh and this the first time I’ve made a little signature. Ill prob update as I make other pieces

This is yet another npc from my DnD campaign. I like to torture my players with mail. I used the postman’s in majoras mask model as reference for the clothing. The boots…… the boots came from not being wanting to draw Sandals…. And not wanting the to draw bare feet. I don’t like feet.
Digital Art #21 Nerth DnD NPC (Poster 7/28/26
This is another NPC in my Zelda DnD campaign. Their name is Nerth and act as the royal advisor to Zelda. They are a Druid so they can wild shape into animals. They also have a pet cat named Nexus! I have used them in bg3 but never completed a the game with them. Regardless I’m happy with how this came out. The boots however gave me such a pain. It def took some time before I was happy with how those came out. I do think overall I’m improving on hair.

This is Zelda from the Legend of Zelda Campaign I’m running. This takes places after the events of TOTK and BOTW so it has lots of themes uses those locations. I have actually had a session in a while with this campaign but such is the way of dnd. I was able to try out procreates glowy pens and I can’t wait to use these more.E

I used another one of those pose apps and traced over the model. I was really trying to more so practice coloring and I think I did decent enough. In the next two drawings after this I mostly was working with clothing (finally)

So…… I lied. I realized I never posted this one. This was just traced from a photo of my dog sleeping. I think I’ve got better grasp on colors since this drawing. This should be the last art I made on Krita.

This the current last drawing I made with Krista. This drawing I was really happy with how it turned out. It’s supposed to be a Durge from Baldurs gate 3. This was my first time drawing. A background and for a first time I’m pretty happy with it. The actual character model was made using Hero Forge.

This is a Mixxi (Mix E). They are a Kolan Tabaxi from the mod made by Colbalt Owl. I did similar things i did with the previous drawing. I enjoyed this one and was happy with its outcome
Digital Art #13 Henry based of Bg3 Model. (Posted 7/13/26)
So this henry was based off the bg3 model with all the mods and some other things I've added. I enjoyed getting the scarring on his body. I was also able learn how to a slight rendering on Krita although there is only one more drawing I have left two drawings left that are using Krita. I do like Krita program its just that it can be a slightly complicated and so far using Procreate has been an easier transition.

This is Gayle. I used Just Sketch me again. This was another attempt for clothings and I think overall it game out good. I was going for more of watercolor look but I think me taking away or not doing the outline hurt the drawing a bit. Regardless this is Gayle I've used her for BG3 and in my Zelda DND campaign as an NPC. She is a Shadowheart Kisser so you know.

Quick Note: I've recently purchased a refurbished I pad to switch over to procreate the next few drawings posted including this one were still made Via Krita. This photo was made by using a posing software know as JustSketch me. I was able to get the pose and the photo of the outfit from bg3 it fit on more cartoony look. I'll be honest I did not like the final product of this one. I'm still trying to find an artstyle something will (and probaly was) become apparent in the next drawings after this

I made this thing during a bit of block of the art. He is Name "God's Mistake". I was little harsh but thats ok. I like his hand and this also are done free hand with no references. This also started as a adult link from ocarina of time and i gave up and make this front to nature. I created him and live in regret he exists /j

I was trying to practice with some back ground on this one and made a little sad Pou. I tried some shading which looks best on Pou not so good on the towers. I want to try better and finding out how to make things glow. Pou is cool and easy to draw and when I was drawing this I hit the art block and self doubt my art is terrible and won't get better..... maybe forgetting I only been doing this at this point less that a week.

This is Kirby. I was hoping because Kirby is a simple drawing he be easy. I don't overall like how this came out. I think I may now be better at shading. I do still wanna share this drawing to show how my drawings evolve over time. It is around this point I get a the more cursed art block of things but was trying to push myself to work on a drawing each day.

More Mii's! This was done in similar way as the one prior. I took pictures in the photobooth of the mii's, which had to be seperate images because the max is 8. This way the images would be of all these lovely miis together. These Mii's are of my online friends who have been supportive of this art journey among my other friends groups as well. I will probally draw them as well sometime in the future. The background is a little messy because I was still learning Krita and still am. Some of the Miis did help me gett a better concept of shading but it is still something I struggle with

This is my first art work done in the Krita Program. This of my partner's Mii in Tomodachi Life....... as their mii fell in love with mine. I traced over an in screenshot of the game. Transferring photos in Tomodachi Life is... annoying to say the least. Tomodachi Life is what sprouted my urges draw other than my hate for AI. I've given my Mii's various items they probably should not have with the creation tools in this game. This has helped me get more comfortable with the idea of tracing over art and not having the imposter syndrome about it. As long as you're not blatantly copying another art piece there should not be an issue. ANYWAYS i was messing around with some prushes while here and got this cool paint one. I am not sure how useful this brush would actually be but for now its good for simple backgrounds.
Digital Art #2- Toon Link (Posted 6/15/26)
So..... My most favorite series is The Legend of Zelda as you may see the more I draw. I was able to kind of get a good shade on Link. This again was done free hand with so the lines are quite uneven. I am not sure how often I will post here. Right now, I have few drawings already..... drawn. Eventually it will be when I'm actually done with the drawing but I think I am just rambling. Past this drawing I start to trace over my references to get a better idea on how to make straighter lines. This was the only other drawing I did in Windows Paint. Paint is not exactly a bad art program...... its just not a good one. Krita has been very nice and their shared hatred of AI is always a bonus.
Digital Art #1- Yoshi (Posted 6/14/26)
This first drawing was made with the Paint App on Windows (I've since moved to Krita) The only other drawing I used with this program is my 2nd one. Paint is not worst drawing tool but it is not best. For this drawing I did this free hand using the Yoshi as a reference. Now it may look like is Jaw is busted but for a first drawing I was quite happy with it. I am ready for a life long battle of drawing hands.....
